Academic Cell (AC) located at ICMR-National Institute of Virology (ICMR-NIV), Pashan, Pune conducts administrative activities with regards to Master of Science in Virology (M.Sc. Virology), Master of Philosophy (M. Phil.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) academic programs offered at ICMR-NIV. ICMR-NIV is affiliated to the Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune (SPPU, formerly Pune University/University of Poona) for the above mentioned academic programs.
Briefly about the affiliation
The SPPU, one of the premier universities in India popularly known as “Oxford of the East” is located in Pune city (411 acres campus). The university was established on 10th February 1949 under the Poona University Act, passed by the Bombay Legislature in 1948. Pune, Ahmednagar and Nasik come under its jurisdiction.
