The enzyme-linked immunospot (ELISpot) assay is a highly sensitive immunoassay that measures the frequency of cytokine-secreting cells at the single-cell level. The ELISpot assay is carried out in a 96-well plate, and an automated ELISpot reader is used for analysis.
Applications:
1. Screening of antibody producing cells.
2. Serial check on immune reactions towards chemicals, and newly developed pharmaceuticals.
3. Control of guided vaccinations.
4. Optimization of anti-tumour activities of dendritic cells and T-lymphocytes.
5. Diagnosis and prognostic analysis of autoimmune diseases.
6. Monitoring of immune therapy.
7. Analysis of stem cell function.
